ORIGINS


Andrew Carnegie was born in 1835 on November 25th, he was born in Dunfermline, Scotland. But in 1848, he and his parents, and Andrew's little brother Tom immigrated to America. Where they then settled down in Allegheny, Pennsylvania. Carnegie did not have a formal education as he got his education through public libraries. Before he started working on his more important feets. At age 13 he worked as a bobbin boy in a cotton mill, then later he was hired as a messenger for a local telegraph company. He taught himself how to use the equipment which got him promoted to telegraph operator. Using these skills he got himself a job with Pennsylvania railroad company and was promoted at age 24 to superintendent.
